LENYN SOSA SENT TO TORONTO

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Lenyn Sosa from the Chicago White Sox for outfielder Jordan Rich and a player to be named later or cash.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Sosa adds pop and depth to Toronto's lineup. The infielder broke out for 22 home runs in 2025, but his OBP will always suffer from an extremely low walk rate. Sosa could play nearly every day while the Blue Jays deal with injuries and a few early-season slumps. Longer term, he will probably be a part-time player, but he could challenge for at-bats as the designated hitter or at second or third base.

What does it give the Chicago White Sox
With more young talent coming soon, Chicago opted to move on from Sosa, who lost his starting job this season. They do not get a lot in return. Rich is a low-ranking outfield prospect just selected in the 17th round of the 2025 draft. Still, he will add some younger potential to the organization. The White Sox will also get a PTNBL or cash at a later date.

Fantasy impact
Sosa could see more playing time after this trade, which would add value in fantasy leagues. In most formats, wait and see if he can get into a groove with the Blue Jays. He may end up being a bench bat with his new club.
