ATLANTA ADDS MEDEROS
The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Victor Mederos from the Los Angeles Angels for international bonus pool money.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves bolster their organizational pitching depth with the addition of Mederos. The right-hander has really struggled in his first few MLB call-ups, but he is still only 24 years old. He tends to allow too many baserunners (even in the minors), so this fresh start could be what he needs. He was optioned following the trade and will start out at Triple-A Gwinnett.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
Mederos was not making progress with the Angels, so they designated him for assignment shortly before this trade. They were able to add international free agent money from the Braves, instead of losing Mederos on waivers for nothing.
Fantasy impact
Mederos is not looking like a promising big-league pitcher at this point, so this trade will not have a fantasy impact.
