WOODFORD MOVED TO MILWAUKEE
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired pitcher Jake Woodford from the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher K.C. Hunt.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
Woodford provides Milwaukee's pitching staff with depth heading into the 2026 season. He has not had much success facing MLB hitters in recent years, but the right-hander offers versatility as a starter or long reliever. The Brewers must want to give him a look this season, as they selected him to the active roster with this trade.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
Woodford was only on a minor-league contract with Tampa Bay, so they did fine getting a prospect for him here. Hunt is a right-handed starter who will be looking to move above Double-A ball this season. A former 12th-round draft pick, he had a 4.45 ERA in 26 starts in the minors in 2025.
