JULIEN, OHL ON THEIR WAY TO COLORADO
The Colorado Rockies acquired infielder Edouard Julien and pitcher Pierson Ohl from the Minnesota Twins for pitcher Jace Kaminska and cash.
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies are buying low on Julien, who had back-to-back disappointing seasons after a solid rookie year in 2023. The infielder should get a long chance to turn it around in Colorado, still early in an ongoing rebuild. As for Ohl, he brings depth and versatility to the pitching staff. He does not have much MLB experience, but he can start games or work as a multi-inning reliever. The right-hander is likely to see time in the minors and big leagues this season.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins
Minnesota is not getting a lot back here. Moving on from two 40-man roster players, they add some cash and a pitching prospect. Kaminska was a 10th-round pick in 2023 who missed last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Still, he will be another young arm in the organization to watch for as he works his way back.
Fantasy impact
Julien is the only player on the move here with potential in fantasy leagues, and this trade gives him a boost. Playing home games at Coors Field could get Julien going again, so he is a player to keep an eye on as the 2026 season gets underway. But wait and see on him in most formats.
