JAKE MCCARTHY JOINS COLORADO
The Colorado Rockies acquired outfielder Jake McCarthy from the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitcher Josh Grosz.
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
McCarthy adds some outfield depth to the Rockies, a team that has lots of youthful outfielders as well as a few veterans. McCarthy has been an everyday player in the past but will likely come off the bench in Colorado.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
In exchange for McCarthy, the Diamondbacks got back a decent pitching prospect in Grosz. The latter has a projectable frame and decent stuff. Grosz has yet to reach Double-A ball, so he has some more developing to do.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as McCarthy is unlikely to play every day in Colorado. Meanwhile, Grosz is a few years away from MLB.
