DANE MYERS MOVED TO THE REDS
The Cincinnati Reds acquired outfielder Dane Myers from the Miami Marlins for outfielder Ethan O'Donnell.
What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
The addition of Myers bolsters Cincinnati's outfield depth ahead of the 2026 season. The 29-year-old is most effective platooning against left-handed pitchers, but he could challenge for a starting job as well. He can also play all three outfield positions, so he should be a useful pickup for the Reds.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
Miami has several young outfielders vying for playing time, so they elected to move on from Myers. They add an outfield prospect in O'Donnell. A 2023 sixth-round pick, he has worked his way up to Double-A ball and has shown good plate discipline and base-stealing ability.
Fantasy impact
Myers has limited appeal in fantasy baseball, and that should not change after this trade. His stolen bases can be of interest in deeper leagues, but he may also see less playing time with the Reds. O'Donnell is not on the fantasy radar at this time.
