BAUMLER TRADED TO TEXAS

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Carter Baumler from the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Jaiker Garcia and cash.

The 23-year-old Baumler was a Rule 5 draftee by Pittsburgh, so he must remain on the 26-man roster throughout 2026. The Rangers will give him that opportunity in spring training.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
Instead of keeping their Rule 5 draftee, the Pirates decided to move him for pitching prospect Garcia, a 21-year-old right-hander, and some cash. Good deal for both sides.
