RAYS, WHITE SOX SWAP FOUR
The Tampa Bay Rays acquired pitchers Yoendrys Gomez and Steven Wilson from the Chicago White Sox for outfielder Everson Pereira and infielder Tanner Murray.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays should get good mileage out of the two pitchers acquired here. Gomez is 26 and can be used either as a starter or reliever. Wilson is a veteran right-hander who could be used in high-leverage situations (or as an opener) this year.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
For the White Sox, Pereira is a very intriguing outfielder. He turns 25 during the 2026 campaign and could be an everyday player if he shows out during spring training. As for Murray, he is more of a depth infielder for Chicago at this point.
Fantasy impact
Gomez is unlikely to make a fantasy impact, while Wilson is one of several candidates to pitch in short relief for the Rays this season. Buyer beware. Pereira is the potential fantasy sleeper of this trade and could be a late-round gem in 2026. Murray's fantasy value is negligible.
