What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners obviously like Hoppe a lot, since they added him to the 40-man roster upon acquiring him. He is a 27-year-old right-hander who could compete for a bullpen spot in 2026.
What does it give the Boston Red Sox
A hulking catcher, Heyman was drafted by Seattle in 2025 (14th round), so he is obviously several years away from MLB. He is an intriguing addition for Boston at a very low cost.
Fantasy impact
Neither Hoppe nor Heyman have any fantasy value at present time. That said, keep an eye on Heyman. He could be a future fantasy catcher well down the line.
