The Milwaukee Brewers acquired pitchers Shelby Miller and Jordan Montgomery from the Arizona Diamondbacks for a player to be named later.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
This is an interesting trade, since Miller is currently on the 15-day IL while Montgomery is on the 60-day IL. Arizona took this opportunity to shed two salaries, while the Brewers decided to add two veteran pitchers for very little return.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks did a lot of selling at this year's trade deadline, including the contracts of both Miller and Montgomery. In return, Arizona will probably receive back a middling prospect down the road.
