HOUSER HEADS TO TAMPA BAY

The Tampa Bay Rays acquired pitcher Adrian Houser from the Chicago White Sox for infielder Curtis Mead, and pitchers Duncan Davitt and Ben Peoples.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
In Houser, the Rays bring in a veteran starter enjoying a solid season. The right-hander has been more of an innings-eater the past few years, but he impressed over 11 starts in 2025 with a 2.10 ERA. Though he is likely due for some regression, Houser is a good depth addition for Tampa Bay down the stretch.

What does it give the Chicago White Sox
Chicago only signed Houser mid-season, so they did well getting three assets for him at the trade deadline. Mead headlines this return. The infielder was unable to breakout in call-ups over three seasons with the Rays, but he was a decent prospect fairly recently, so he could get a longer look with the White Sox soon. Davitt and Peoples are lower-ranking pitching prospects who will continue developing with Chicago.

Fantasy impact
Houser only has value in deep fantasy leagues, and that will not change after this trade. Mead, however, could be worth keeping an eye on if Chicago calls him up. He has been a productive hitter in the minors, but take a wait-and-see approach with him.
