PITTSBURGH FLIPS FALTER TO KANSAS CITY
The Kansas City Royals acquired pitcher Bailey Falter from the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Evan Sisk and first baseman Callan Moss.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
The Royals improve their rotation with the addition of Falter. The veteran left-hander is typically more of an innings-eater, but he was having his best season to date this year (with a 3.73 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 22 starts). Kansas City's pitching staff has been dealing with injuries, too, so Falter gives them a much-needed starter as they try to stay in the hunt for the playoffs.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
As they move on from Falter, the Pirates bring in another left-hander in Sisk. He is a reliever who has shown promise in the minors. Sisk also struck out 11 hitters in 5.1 IP during his first MLB call-up this season. He could be a longer-term fit in their bullpen with years of team control ahead. As for Moss, he is not a high-ranking prospect, but he gives Pittsburgh another young hitter with some potential.

            Fantasy impact
Falter could earn more wins with the Royals, but he will still only have value in deep fantasy leagues. Meanwhile, Sisk could be of interest if he becomes a high-leverage reliever. But for now, he is still trying to earn a role in the MLB bullpen.
