DRURY DEALT TO SAN DIEGO
The San Diego Padres acquired designated hitter/infielder Brandon Drury from the Cincinati Reds for infielder Victor Acosta.
What does it give the San Diego Padres
The Padres have Manny Machado at the hot corner, so Drury will probably receive most of his at-bats at the DH position for his new team. He is enjoying a career season, but his playing time may go down in San Diego.
What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
The Reds were talking contract extension with Drury leading up to the deadline, but ultimately decided to move him. Acosta is yet another young infield prospect that joins Cincinnati's farm system.
Fantasy impact
This could be the ideal time to sell Drury, who will have to earn his at-bats down the stretch with the contending Padres. Acosta has keeper value but there is a major logjam with the Reds at present time.
