Two playoff contenders team up for this deal. Atlanta had more of a need in the rotation, so Odorizzi could help the club down the stretch.

For Houston, getting some bullpen help to set up closer Ryan Pressly was essential. Smith should be good in that role for the Astros.
Fantasy impact
Odorizzi's fantasy value is minimal with either Atlanta or Houston, since he is more of a depth starter at this point. Smith could become a better source of holds in Houston, but still with few save chances.
