JAYS DEAL DEREK FISHER TO BREW CREW
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired outfielder Derek Fisher from the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named later and cash considerations.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
Fisher now heads to his third MLB organization since 2019, and he is still trying to find his niche in the bigs. He has a lot of talent but has yet to put it all together. Perhaps another fresh start in Milwaukee can bring out the best in him. He will try to take at-bats away from Avisail Garcia in the outfield (and perhaps even win a platoon role).
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays had designated Fisher for assignment recently, so they did their best to maximize their asset by getting back a future prospect and some cash. That is probably not enough considering Fisher's talent level, but they could have also lost him for nothing. So, they did the best they could under those circumstances.
Fantasy impact
Fisher is probably worth a last-round flier in deeper leagues (either keeper or yearly formats). He is perhaps a bit of a long shot to ever maximize his untapped potential but he is worth the gamble at this point.
