ANGELS ADD ALEX COBB FOR PITCHING DEPTH

The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher Alex Cobb and cash from the Baltimore Orioles for infielder/outfielder Jahmai Jones.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels should be able to utilize Cobb as part of their projected SIX-man rotation in 2021, provided the veteran right-hander can stay healthy (which has been an issue for him over the years). Still, this move is relatively painless for LA, since Baltimore agreed to pay $10 million of Cobb's remaining $15 million salary.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore did well here as well, since Jones could be a solid prospect for the rebuilding Orioles. He can play second base, but has also seen time in the outfield with the Angels organization. Therefore, expect Baltimore to maximize his versatility in order to get his bat in the lineup. The rebuilding O's did well here.

Fantasy impact
Both Cobb and Jones should be helped by this trade, so both players should be drafted in most league formats this year. Cobb might surprise as a late-round gem, while Jones has plenty of keeper appeal (especially if he is eligible at multiple positions).
