TORONTO TRADES FOR DANIEL VOGELBACH

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired first baseman/designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach from the Seattle Mariners for cash.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
In Vogelbach, the Blue Jays acquired a slugger who has struggled to hit for average in MLB. However, he did slug 30 home runs for Seattle last season, so the hope here is that he can rediscover his power stroke.

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners finally gave up on Vogelbach by designating him for assignment recently. They simply could no longer justify keeping him in the lineup (he went 5-for-53 this year, or a .094 batting average).

Fantasy impact
Do not expect 30 home runs from Vogelbach again. That said, keep an eye on his progress with the Blue Jays organization.
