The Giants are desperate to add any bats from any position these days. Robertson is a 26-year-old infielder who plays multiple positions. He is not likely to make much of an impact.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays recently designated Robertson for assignment, so it is no surprise that they accepted a minimal return for his services. He batted just .213 for Tampa Bay last season.

Do not pick up Robertson, as he is likely to be used in a utility infielder role with the Giants.
