DIAMONDBACKS DEAL FOR BEN LIVELY
The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired pitcher Ben Lively from the Kansas City Royals for cash.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona felt the need to add some bullpen depth here, so they made the deal to acquire Lively, a former top prospect who is now struggling to establish himself in MLB. For now, Lively will pitch for Triple-A Reno.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
The Royals recently designated Lively for assignment, so they did well here to at least get cash back for his services. In parts of two seasons with Kansas City, he only made six appearances for the Royals.
Fantasy impact
There may still be time for the 27-year-old Lively to salvage his MLB career but time is starting to run out on him. This move appears to be critical for him. From a fantasy perspective, he currently holds no value.
