D'Arnaud is expected to serve as the Angels' No. 2 catcher behind Logan O'Hoppe this season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Scouting Report

A big catcher, he has smooth defensive acumen and great instincts for the position. He also boasts good home-run power from the catching position, as well as the ability to hit for average. Could stand to improve his walk/strikeout ratio in order to maximize his hitting ability at the big-league level. Also needs to stay healthy, as injuries have been a big concern in his case.
